Gfal029:

There is a tavern in the town, in the town,

And there my true love sits him down, sits him down,

And drinks his wine as merry as can be,

And never, never thinks of me.

Fare thee well, for I must leave thee,

Do not let this parting grieve thee,

The time has come for you and I to say goodbye.

Adieu, adieu kind friends, adieu, yes, adieu,

I can no longer stay with you, stay with you.

I'll hang my harp on the weeping willow tree,

Fare thee well, fare thee well, fare thee well.

He left me for a damsel dark, damsel dark,

Each Friday night they used to spark, used to spark, ⑴

And now my love who once was true to me, ⑵

Takes that dark damsel along his knee.

Fare thee well, for I must leave thee,

Do not let this parting grieve thee,

The time has come for you and I to say goodbye.

Adieu, adieu kind friends, adieu, yes, adieu,

I can no longer stay with you, stay with you,

I'll hang my harp on the weeping willow tree,

Fare thee well, fare thee well, fare thee well.

And now I see him nevermore, nevermore,

He never, never knocks at my door, at my door.

Oh, woe is me; he pinned a little note,

I read to you the words he wrote.

Oh, dig my grave both wide and deep, wide and deep, ⑶

Put tombstones at my head and feet, head and feet.

And on my breast just carve a turtle dove, ⑷

To signify I died for love.

队一将原词的 "The time has come for you and I to say goodbye." 改成了 "And remember that the best of friends must part, must part."(真含蓄)"竖琴挂在垂柳上" 出自圣经诗篇,是一首流亡之人的悲歌,挂起竖琴意为不再欢乐。

莎士比亚在 "The Phoenix And The Turtle" 中写到:

Here the anthem doth commence:
Love and constancy is dead;
Phoenix and the turtle fled,
In a mutual flame from hence.

So they lov'd, as love in twain
Had the essence but in one;
Two distincts, division none:
Number there in love was slain.

爱情和忠贞已经死亡;

仿佛两者已合为一体;

I'm here because I made a promise." 队长回答:"You lost someone." I'm going after Schmidt, I'm not gonna stop until all Hydra is dead or captured."

⑴ Spark: intangible, unspoken chemistry

⑶ "He's definitely fallen pretty far down."

⑷ Babylonian captivity
